Lubna Chowdhary (b.1964, Tanzania) is highly acclaimed for her ceramic work, which subverts the traditional context and utility of the medium and has evolved from her long-time fascination with a fusion of cultural and artistic influences. The exhibition will feature Chowdhary’s exquisite ceramic works shown as multi-part wall-based panels or arranged as Tableaux. These will be shown alongside small, hand-built unglazed sculptures in addition to three human-scale wooden sculptures and other work created in situ from easily obtainable materials such as rope and plumbing supplies.
